Complex spine revision/redo-surgery

A 77 year old female came crippled due to failed previous surgery. She had a TLIF surgery done 4 years back. Due to non-fusion of the implant the screws started to loose . She started to have increased pain in back and legs. She could not go out of house and deteriorated to the extent that she became confined to bed. No surgeon was ready to do anything as it needed complex redo surgery. She underwent a complex all posterior spine reconstruction with expandable cage, cemented screws and fusion with allograft. She was able to move out of bed 2 days after surgery and now she is totally fine – mobile and painfree. She attends all functions , is independent and walks 3-4 km a day.
